This fund was created by Nikki Dickenson, in loving memory of her husband, and Mark, Gemma and Stephen's father, John. The family wanted to do something to celebrate his life, and so, inspired by John's optimism and love of hiking, in December 2009 they climbed Kilimanjaro to raise money for the fund. "John lived life to the full. He was an amazing man who loved his family, loved socialising, loved his job and combined the three very successfully. He was an incredibly positive man." A family holiday to South Africa made the family really aware of the poverty and injustice experienced by millions of people there, and so they have been raising money for CAFOD's work in Africa.
